29th October - Wexford Reivew (AW)

29th October – Wexford

Going: Heavy (Times support this)

Jaamid opened proceedings with a decent win in the maiden hurdle. Noel Meade’s charge put in a decent performance on the heavy going and could be one to keep on the right side of. After moving from the U.K. last season he is described as finally settling in his races and he should be able to land a novice event. Orge D’Ete showed that he is improving and Willie Mullins believes soft ground and a bit further will prove to his liking, I’d have him down as one to keep an eye on. Those first few should all be able to find opportunities.

Elkras Wings took an average handicap and the form would not appear to be anything out of the ordinary. Pat Hughes said it was the best she’s looked but I don’t know how easy she will find it to win again.

Kazal opened his racing career with a debut success for the in form Eoin Griffin. Described as a future chasing prospect he is not one to expect a great deal from this year but is one to remember when next season comes around.

Camptect landed the handicap hurdle for another in form trainer, Davy Fitzgerald. The race was nothing special and the horse isn’t getting any younger, despite this being a sound enough performance, I would be inclined to avoid using the form of this race in the future.

Well Run provided Noel Meade with yet another success, the time was poor and I’d again be inclined to avoid holding the form of the race in any fair regard.

Overall this card was weak and this was a poor meeting. The opening race looked like the best race to take from the meeting in terms of finding future winners.
